A RELATIONSHIP THAT WORKS
My experience as a partner at large law firms and as General Counsel and a business development leader at emerging growth companies made clear to me that the concept of the billable hour (particularly the high rates of large law firms) was diametrically opposed to our mutual best interests. It is far more productive for your business and satisfying for both of us if we can create a mutually supportive, efficient, cost-effective, creative and flexible partnership based on a fixed monthly rate. It’s an opportunity unburdened by billable hour time pressures to apply my depth of legal and business experience to your needs in all aspects of your company’s growth - from company financing and growth strategies, to corporate governance, effective contracting, corporate transactions, strategic partnerships and government relations.
The model is simple and straightforward -
We agree on a monthly fee for legal and business services that represents our best view of the level of work required.
The fee is set at a cost-effective amount for you since I benefit from ease of administration, predictability and the flexibility to engage more deeply in your business.
On a monthly basis when there is unusual activity we pre-agree on a modification for that month.
We can both take the time to focus on all aspects of your business, not just the purely legal ones, without the pressures of the spinning meter hovering over your shoulder. We have the freedom to think flexibly about how we can work best together to advance the business whether I am providing support as an in-house/outside counsel or adjunct business development asset.
